Kitakyushu Pop Culture Festival 2024
Saturday, 11/30 and Sunday, 12/1!
”KPF (Kitakyushu Pop Culture Festival) 2024 supported by Iichiko” is held annually for the purpose of cultural promotion and regional revitalization of Kitakyushu City and is organized by the KPF Executive Committee and Kitakyushu City, and will be held again as last year!
The festival will be held on November 30 (Sat.) and December 1 (Sun.) at the West Japan General Exhibition Center New Annex, Aru Aru City, and Kokura Station JAM Plaza.
General applications for the stage for which seat reservation tickets are available are due by 11/8! Don’t miss it!
Aru Aru City is a hotspot for Seiyu’s events!
Aru Aru City is a commercial complex located in the center of Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City. This facility is home to stores specializing in subcultures such as anime, manga, and video games, and is usually a mecca for pop culture fans.
As the central venue for the Kitakyushu Pop Culture Festival (KPF), it is even more crowded than usual during the event.
It is also a hotspot for voice-over actor events, with frequent voice-over actor talk shows held throughout the year, making it easy for people in western Japan to get there!

This year’s event, the ninth in the series, will once again feature Yuki Kaneko, Yuki Takada, and Kaori Maeda, three voice actors from Kitakyushu City who serve as Kitakyushu Tourism Ambassadors, as well as Toshio Furukawa and Mayumi Tanaka in the very popular “Legend is YATTEKURU” program!
Other events include talk shows featuring popular voice actors and anime works, live stage performances by artists, exhibits of anime and manga works, local collaboration projects, painted car exhibits, cosplay events, gourmet food, and more.
This year, two stages (Green Stage/Yellow Stage) will be set up at the venue, where the Ultraman Arc Show and Wandahuru Puri Kyua Show will be held! show, and other events that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Enhance the image of the region as a pop culture city!
The Kitakyushu Pop Culture Festival is having a significant impact on the local economy.
During the event, accommodations, restaurants, transportation, and other facilities are crowded with visitors. Last year’s KPF2023 attracted approximately 68,000 visitors over two days, and the economic impact is estimated at approximately 800 million yen.
The event has also helped to improve the image of Kitakyushu City, which is increasingly recognized as a “pop culture city.
This could have a positive impact on the migration of young people and the attraction of businesses. In the future, we expect to see even greater development, such as the development of events on an even more international scale and the holding of pop culture-related events throughout the year. Kitakyushu City is aiming for a synergistic effect between cultural promotion and regional revitalization with this festival as its core.
The Kitakyushu Pop Culture Festival 2024 provides a dreamlike space for pop culture fans, while at the same time creating new attractions for Kitakyushu City and contributing to the revitalization of the region.
The festival, which is centered on Aru Aru City, shows the potential of the power of subcultures to change the entire city, and is expected to grow even more in the future.
