When I think of theater in a virtual space, I feel like I see it in attractions such as Disneyland and other theme parks. So, let’s pick up the features of this virtual stage play to see what is different!
In “Otogibanashi”, virtual artists Kafu（花譜）, Rime（理芽）,Isekaijocho（ヰ世界情緒）,Haru: Harusaruhi（春猿火）, and Koko（幸祜） try their hand at acting in a virtual space as “actors”. The virtual artists, who themselves have their own “character”, will be able to play a completely different role from themselves, thus embodying the further possibilities of virtual artists.
KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO’s orchestra project “KAMITSUBAKI PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA” (KAMITSUBAKI PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA) will participate in the performance with orchestral arrangements to liven up the performance.
This is a joint production by KDDI and THINKR with the aim of realizing a new form of performing arts expression using cutting-edge technology. The virtual stage play is realized through the performance of virtual artists using motion capture and the latest “virtual set” technology. The two companies plan to conduct research and development of new expressions using AI and XR technologies as part of future “Otogibanashi” project initiatives.
This is a project that will continue to research and develop new expressions through joint production by the two companies, KDDI and THINKR.
The development of virtual production technology can be expected.

Also, Alya (CV. Uesaka Sumire) and Kafu sang together in the ED theme song “Secret Words” of the 6th episode of “Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian”.

Future prospects related to the voice-over industry as seen from this endeavor
KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO intends to further expand the possibilities for virtual artists through the “Otogibanashi” project.
Therefore, it is conceivable that virtual artists will continue to expand into the field of acting following this stage play.
This time, opportunities for virtual artists to work as actors have been prepared, and they are also entering the realm of acting.
Not only will the artists themselves further expand their range of expression as singers, but there is also a great possibility that they will work as voice actors, as in the case of Ruri Asano, whom we introduced earlier, as a challenge that transcends dimensions.
