The 19th Seiyu Award New Talent Search Audition, which has been held in conjunction with the Seiyu Awards since its inception and is operated and managed by the Seiyu Awards Executive Committee and the Seiyu Awards Office for the purpose of fostering new talent, is now open for entries, with entries must arrive at the office by November 5.
This is a large-scale audition for voice actors in which many of the industry’s leading voice actor agencies will be participating, so aspiring voice actors should not miss this audition.
We have picked out five people who belong to voice actor agencies and have passed the audition within the past 10 times, namely Mr. Taiga Takano, Ms. Rena Tada, Ms. Kanata Ono, Ms. Haruna Mikawa, and Ms. Miho Hayashi, and have also checked their current status.
Some of our successful applicants have no acting experience. Please check out what kind of seniors we have!

Taiga Takano

He was selected from the largest number of seven companies in the 16th Seiyu Award Newcomer Search Audition! He currently belongs to 81 Produce.
According to the free talk on the voice sample, he has a background of playing Young Simba as a child actor in the Shiki Theatre Company’s musical “The Lion King” when he was in elementary school.
He seems to be a person interested in various hobbies and skills: “Singing, dancing, games, photography, solving riddles, mahjong, poker, visiting ramen noodle shops and cafes, and reciting the 100 digits of pi.
”Komadawataru’s Komastagram” already shows that he has the ability to handle youtube programs. He is also good at imitating a dog’s bark.
He also has a stable voice, so it is likely that he will continue to be active in the future.

Rena Tada

Rena Tada was scouted by 5 companies at the 16th audition, the same as Ms. Takano! She is also a member of 81 Produce.
She says that she grew up on an island with abundant nature and no trains or convenience stores from elementary school to high school. He said that his strength is luck, and that he is blessed with people and environment.
I think the quality of her voice also shows her gratitude and kindness toward them!
In fact, when she auditioned, she passed the audition without any acting experience! That’s amazing!
Although there is no official work for her to appear in yet, she has a straightforward voice that seems to be suited to playing a kind protagonist or a girl who is his best friend, so we can expect to see her selected in the future.

Kanata Ono

Ms. Ohno was scouted by five companies at the 13th Seiyu Award. At the audition, he performed a dialogue by herself with Kinta-kun, a stuffed bird that he brought with her!
His future goal is to become a voice actor who can also dub Western movies. He would like to play the role of an American comic book hero because he likes Western movies and dramas.
Listening to the voice sample, I have the impression that he can play a wide range of characters, both hot and calm, in the mid-range! Although not a major character, he has also appeared in “Aoashi” and “Sabikui Bisco”.
Hanazuki Mikawa

While in college, she auditioned for the 11th Seiyu Award for New Talent Search and was scouted by seven companies! She then entered School Duo, a training school attached to Ken Productions, and joined Ken Productions in April 2020.
She has played major characters such as Aoi Mizushino in “Solo Leveling” and Rin Kagawa in “When Will Ayumu Make His Move?”, and in 2025, she will also play the roles of Ira in “KINOMI MASTER” and Satsuki Amamiya in “mono”. She is also set to play the roles of Ira in “Outskill 《Kirinomimi Master》 ~About the fact that I can eat the fruit of skill (if I eat it, I die) without limit.

She passed the 9th Seiyu Award Newcomer Search Audition and belongs to Stay Luck, of which Daisuke Namikawa is the president, from 2019.
Listening to the voice sample, I have the impression that she has a wide range of acting skills and plays both adult women and vivacious girls.
Also, listening to the free talk, I heard that she is a first dan in Naginata. She also said that she started Naginata because she wanted to be able to survive if she were to travel back in time to the Warring States Period!
She also has experience in kendo and karate, and says he is a surprisingly martial arts fighter!
In the TV anime “YMission: Yozakura family”, he played the role of a boy Kyoichiro in his childhood. She said she was very honored because he does not usually play boy roles.
The Seiyu Award Newcomer Discovery Audition is a chance to become a professional voice actor!
If you look further back in the past, you will find that many voice actors have been active!
Some of those who have passed the exam with zero acting experience have gone on to gain experience at our training school and make their debut two to three years later. There is no need to give up on taking the exam just because you have no acting experience.
This audition is a gateway to success for voice actors, and aspiring voice actors should definitely give it a try!
